MVA Concussion Program

Comprehensive concussion screening, assessment, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation following a motor vehicle accident.

Motor vehicle accident concussions can be complex and may affect many areas of a patient’s life, including headaches, dizziness, balance, vision, concentration, sleep, mood, driving tolerance, work ability, and daily function. At Active Line Rehab in North York, our MVA Concussion Program is designed to support patients recovering from concussion and post-concussion symptoms through a coordinated, multidisciplinary rehabilitation approach.

The program may include concussion screening, clinical assessment, vestibular therapy, physiotherapy, chiropractic care, active exercise therapy, massage therapy, and psychological support where clinically appropriate. Each treatment plan is individualized based on the patient’s symptoms, functional limitations, recovery stage, and rehabilitation goals.

The program begins with structured concussion screening and a detailed clinical assessment to help establish the patient’s baseline, identify active symptom areas, and determine the most appropriate treatment approach. Progress is monitored throughout the rehabilitation process, with clinical documentation available to support treatment planning, MVA insurance claims, legal communication, and return-to-work or return-to-activity recommendations where appropriate.

This program is suitable for patients with recent or ongoing concussion symptoms following a motor vehicle accident, including those experiencing dizziness, headaches, visual disturbances, balance problems, neck pain, anxiety, driving fear, fatigue, concentration difficulties, or difficulty returning to normal daily activities.

Direct billing may be available for eligible MVA claims.

Post-MVA Whiplash & Headache Program

Targeted rehabilitation for whiplash injuries, neck pain, and headaches following motor vehicle accidents.

Whiplash injuries and post-accident headaches are common after motor vehicle accidents and can significantly affect daily function, sleep, driving tolerance, work ability, and quality of life. At Active Line Rehab in North York, our Post-MVA Whiplash & Headache Program is designed to support patients recovering from neck injuries, headaches, muscle tension, stiffness, and movement limitations following an accident.

This program may include chiropractic care, physiotherapy, massage therapy, active exercise therapy, postural education, stretching, strengthening, and pain management strategies. Treatment is individualized based on the patient’s symptoms, clinical presentation, recovery stage, and functional goals.

The program focuses on addressing common post-MVA concerns such as cervical spine dysfunction, muscle guarding, reduced range of motion, nerve irritation, tension headaches, cervicogenic headaches, postural strain, and whiplash-associated symptoms. Progress is monitored throughout the rehabilitation process, with documentation available to support treatment planning, MVA insurance claims, legal communication, and return-to-work or return-to-activity recommendations where appropriate.

This program is suitable for patients experiencing neck pain, headaches, shoulder tension, stiffness, reduced mobility, dizziness related to neck involvement, or difficulty returning to normal daily activities after a motor vehicle accident.

Direct billing may be available for eligible MVA claims.

Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program

A structured multidisciplinary rehabilitation program for patients living with persistent pain after injury or accident.

Chronic pain can affect every part of life, including mobility, sleep, mood, work ability, family responsibilities, and overall quality of life. At Active Line Rehab in North York, our Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program is designed to support patients experiencing ongoing pain after a motor vehicle accident, workplace injury, sports injury, or other physical trauma.

This program uses a coordinated multidisciplinary approach to address the physical, emotional, and functional impact of persistent pain. Treatment may include physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, active exercise therapy, pain education, functional rehabilitation, and psychological support where clinically appropriate.

The goal of the program is to help patients manage pain more effectively, improve movement, rebuild strength and endurance, increase confidence with daily activities, and gradually reduce reliance on passive care by developing long-term self-management strategies.

Each treatment plan is individualized based on the patient’s symptoms, tolerance, functional limitations, recovery goals, and overall rehabilitation needs. Progress is monitored throughout the program, with documentation available to support MVA insurance claims, WSIB matters, legal communication, and return-to-work or return-to-activity recommendations where appropriate.

This program is suitable for patients experiencing persistent pain, reduced mobility, weakness, fear of movement, post-accident pain, chronic neck or back pain, headaches, soft tissue injuries, or difficulty returning to normal daily function.

Dizziness & Balance Program

Specialized vestibular rehabilitation for dizziness, vertigo, balance problems, and post-concussion symptoms.

Dizziness, vertigo, motion sensitivity, and balance problems can significantly affect daily life, especially after a concussion, motor vehicle accident, fall, or whiplash-related injury. These symptoms may interfere with walking, driving, work, exercise, sleep, and overall confidence with movement.

At Active Line Rehab in North York, our Dizziness & Balance Program is designed to support patients experiencing ongoing dizziness, unsteadiness, visual motion sensitivity, vertigo, balance impairment, or post-concussion vestibular symptoms. Treatment is individualized based on the patient’s symptoms, clinical presentation, tolerance, and functional goals.

The program may include vestibular rehabilitation exercises, gaze stabilization, balance retraining, movement tolerance exercises, functional mobility training, postural education, and canal repositioning techniques, where clinically indicated for conditions such as BPPV.

Our goal is to help reduce dizziness, improve balance and stability, increase confidence with movement, and support a safer return to daily activities, work, driving, and physical activity. Progress is monitored throughout the program, with documentation available to support MVA insurance claims, legal communication, WSIB matters, and clinical treatment planning where appropriate.

Driving Anxiety / Trauma Counselling Program

Psychotherapy and counselling support for MVA-related anxiety, driving fear, trauma symptoms, and emotional recovery.

A motor vehicle accident can leave emotional effects that continue long after the physical injuries. Many patients experience fear of driving, passenger anxiety, avoidance of certain roads or intersections, panic symptoms, hypervigilance, sleep disturbance, irritability, flashbacks, mood changes, or trauma-related stress after an accident.

At Active Line Rehab in North York, our Driving Anxiety / Trauma Counselling Program is designed to support patients experiencing psychological and emotional symptoms following a motor vehicle accident. The program may include psychotherapy, counselling support, anxiety management strategies, trauma-informed care, coping skills, gradual exposure planning, and support with rebuilding confidence in daily activities.

Treatment is individualized based on the patient’s symptoms, comfort level, recovery stage, and personal goals. The focus is to help patients better manage anxiety, reduce avoidance behaviours, improve emotional coping, and gradually regain confidence with driving, travelling as a passenger, returning to work, and participating in normal daily life.

This program may be provided as a standalone service or as part of a coordinated MVA rehabilitation plan together with physiotherapy, chiropractic care, massage therapy, vestibular therapy, active exercise therapy, and chronic pain rehabilitation, where clinically appropriate.

Direct billing may be available for eligible MVA claims.

Functional Recovery Program

Goal-oriented rehabilitation to support daily function, independence, and return to activity after injury.

The Functional Recovery Program at Active Line Rehab in North York is designed to help patients improve practical, real-world function following a motor vehicle accident, workplace injury, surgery, prolonged pain, or physical deconditioning. This program focuses on helping patients regain confidence and ability with the activities that matter most in daily life.

Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, the program is built around each patient’s specific functional goals. These may include returning to household tasks, caregiving responsibilities, walking, lifting, bending, sitting tolerance, standing tolerance, driving, recreational activities, or work-related duties.

Treatment may include physiotherapy, chiropractic care, active exercise therapy, massage therapy, mobility training, strengthening, endurance-building, postural education, and functional movement retraining. Each plan is individualized based on the patient’s condition, tolerance, limitations, and recovery goals.

Progress is monitored throughout the rehabilitation process, with documentation available to support MVA insurance claims, WSIB matters, legal communication, and return-to-work or return-to-activity recommendations where appropriate.

The goal of this program is to help patients improve movement, build strength and endurance, increase confidence, and safely work toward greater independence in daily activities.

Active Exercises Program

Supervised active rehabilitation to rebuild strength, endurance, flexibility, and confidence with movement.

The Active Exercises Program at Active Line Rehab in North York is designed to help patients transition into a more active stage of rehabilitation through guided, structured, land-based therapeutic exercise. This program supports patients who are recovering from injury, pain, surgery, motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, sports injuries, or reduced physical function.

Each exercise program is tailored to the patient’s condition, tolerance, fitness level, and recovery goals. Treatment may include strengthening exercises, mobility training, flexibility work, balance training, core stabilization, cardiovascular conditioning, posture correction, and functional movement training.

The goal of the program is to help patients rebuild strength, improve endurance, increase flexibility, support joint stability, and develop safer movement patterns for daily activities, work, recreation, and long-term recovery.

This program is especially beneficial for patients recovering from motor vehicle accident injuries, post-operative conditions, sports injuries, workplace injuries, chronic pain, muscle weakness, stiffness, reduced mobility, and general deconditioning. Active exercise therapy may also support patients as they move from more passive care into independent self-management and long-term physical wellness.

Progress is monitored throughout the program, with documentation available to support MVA insurance claims, WSIB matters, legal communication, and return-to-work or return-to-activity recommendations where appropriate.

Work Hardening Program

Job-specific conditioning to support a safe and structured return to work after injury.

Returning to work after an injury often requires more than pain relief. It may require rebuilding strength, stamina, movement tolerance, confidence, and the physical abilities needed for specific job duties. At Active Line Rehab in North York, our Work Hardening Program is designed to support injured individuals as they prepare for a safe and gradual return to employment.

This program uses structured, goal-oriented, land-based rehabilitation exercises and work-simulated activities to help patients improve the physical tolerance required for their occupation. Treatment may focus on lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting tolerance, postural endurance, grip strength, mobility, balance, and overall conditioning.

Each program is individualized based on the patient’s injury, current abilities, job demands, recovery stage, and return-to-work goals. Our multidisciplinary team may include physiotherapy, chiropractic care, active exercise therapy, massage therapy, and other rehabilitation services where clinically appropriate.

The program is suitable for patients recovering from motor vehicle accident injuries, workplace injuries, prolonged absences, post-surgical recovery, chronic pain, or physical deconditioning that affects their ability to return to work safely.

Progress is monitored throughout the program, with documentation available to support MVA insurance claims, WSIB matters, legal communication, employer communication, and return-to-work planning where appropriate.
